May 2011 Ladies Rap Session

The ladies rap session was quite a success! We did not stop rapping until after 12 a.m.!


GET TO KNOW YOU... we started our session getting to know one another a little better.  We each shared about ourselves, what brought us to our Huber family and what we love about our church family.  The discussion was lively!  A common theme about what  drew us to Huber and what we love about our church family was how God has used our Servant, Pastor, Shepherd, P. M. Smith!  All of us shared the fact that Pastor breaks down, teaches and preaches the word in a very real and understood way, that the word of God is, truly, taught!  We also commonly love how real and caring our Pastor is.  HE KNOWS US BY NAME!  Not only does he know us by name, but he knows about us, personally.  The Lord has used our Pastor in such a tremendous way and we most surely felt that we are blessed and thankful to God that he placed us under such leadership, that we should not take it for granted the type of leader we have!


As time went on, we began to go deeper, and deeper!  We shared about what we are dealing with in our every day lives.  We laughed and yes, we cried. God was in the house, and He moved on our behalf!  Just ask one of the ladies at this month's rap session.  We went deep!


** A rap session is a time where we come together in a more relaxed setting and talk honestly, openly and practically about a topic or topics e.g. singleness, respect, friendships, sexuality, stress, dating, how to come away from bad relationships, sex, health and whatever is on the minds of our young adults.  It's an open forum.  A rap session provides the opportunity where we can talk to one another in a safe environment about everyday life situations that you would not have the opportunity to discuss on Sundays or at bible study and receive real, practical, godly advice.  You find that, indeed, you are not alone in your struggles and most assuredly, someone in the room has not only gone through what you've gone through, but can and will share how they got the victory in that particular area.  Real, upfront testimonies from individuals and encouragement for your day to day walk!  JUST ASK SOMEBODY, YOU BETTER ASK SOMEBODY... OUR MAY RAP SESSION PROVIDED THAT OPPORTUNITY AND MORE!  See you at the next ladies rap session the 3rd Friday in June!  The young adult men will be getting together, once again, this coming Friday, May 27th @ 7 p.m. in the White House (on Huber Mem'l Church's grounds).  AND FELLAS, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!
